HUST Initiates an Educational Reform Project in Research and Development Center of University Mathematics Teaching

Recently, the research and development center of university mathematics teaching had the 9thseminar to initiate the subsidized educational reform projects. The project applied by Luo Laizhen, who is the teacher from department of mathematics in College of Science, is approved by the center experts. This is the first time that our teacher has won the educational reform project in this center.

In this project application, there are 78 projects from 58 universities and colleges in 15 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, of which 32 projects are approved. In the project defense, Luo Laizhen introduced our university mathematics teaching reforms, including the combination method of online and offline teaching, elite education model, standardized examination reform and the achievements we made in the mathematics contest. What she reported is appraised by the experts in the center and the teachers who are present. Based on the careful study on the university mathematics teaching reform, the project team set up the project onThe Exploration and Practice of Blended Teaching Mode based on Non-standardized Examination to Cultivate Students’ Innovative Ability. This project is to cultivate the students’ innovative thinking and ability and to improve the teaching quality.

The research and development center of university mathematics teaching is jointly sponsored by National Teaching Research Center of Colleges and Universities and Directing Committee for Teaching Mathematics and Statistics in the Ministry of Education. It is an open research organization which carries out teaching reform and promotes the construction and reform of the university mathematics curriculum in China.
