At 16:00, March 5, shortly after the arrival of the 8th inspection group of Provincial CPC Committee headed by Ye Fengji, a mobilization conference was held in the auditorium on the 5th floor of HUST’s New Teaching Building, West Campus, for welcoming them and accepting their special inspection on the work of HUST CPC Committee, in the chair of HUST Party secretary Zhang Hongtao, and with the attendance of all HUST CPC Committee members. Gu Baiwen, director of Provincial Inspection Office as well as a member of Provincial CPC Committee’s Leading Group for Inspection Work, attended the conference as well.

At the meeting, Comrade Ye, as the group leader of the 8th inspection group of Provincial CPC Committee, delivered an important speech, in which he put forward 3 clear requests for HUST CPC Committee on carrying out this special inspection. Representing the Leading Group for Inspection Work, Director Gu also made 3 instructions to both HUST CPC Committee and the inspection group .

Party Secretary Zhang introduced the meet-and-greet he held just before this conference, and the spirit of speech made by Zhang Qingwei, Party secretary of Provincial CPC Committee, at the Provincial CPC Standing Committee Meeting (enlarged) on the work of inspection tour, which Director Gu conveyed to him.On behalf of HUST CPC Committee, he declared that good preparations had been made for this inspection here, and all HUST CPC Committee members would keep a correct attitude toward it.

“I promise we can do our best to cooperate the inspection group and believe it is beneficial for us to speed up our future development, to fulfill the tasks of our ‘Thirteen-five Project’ and to reinforce our “Double Tops” construction.”Party Secretary Zhang concluded.

There were also HUST’s major executives (including non-Party ones) of all departments and schools, former leading staff members at university level retired during the last 3 years and representatives of professors attending the conference as observers. Under the direction of Wang Yue, deputy group leader of this inspection group, a democratic appraisal was made on HUST’s CPC Committee members and provincial cadres on the site of the conference.
