At 9 on November 8, HUST holds the feedback meeting of professional certification of engineering education in the Fourth Conference Room in No. 1 Teaching Building on West Campus. All members of the group experts, the School’s Communist Party Secretary Zhao Guogang, President Li Dayong, Vice-president Guo Erjun, Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection Wang Zhihao, Vice-president Liu Shenghui and department directors and related faculties attended the meeting. Professor Zhang Jianguo presided at the meeting.

Prof. Zhang Jianguo has given full recognition on behalf of the experts to the achievements of our school automation major and metal material engineering major, as well as the high priority attached to the undergraduate teaching by the school leaders, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the school for the excellent work and living environment.

Professor Guo Xiping, head of the expert group in charge of metal material major, fully affirmed the long history of the major and the achievements of the“Excellent Engineer Training Project” and the provincial key specialties. Professor Li Zhou, an expert in the group, praised the achievements in the construction of the learning atmosphere. Professor Fu Kuijun discussed how to further improve the general compulsory courses in the establishment of curriculum objectives and put forward suggestions for further improvement.

Professor Liu Ding, head of expert group of automation major, discussed how to further improve students’ability to analyze and solve problems in comprehensive and multi-domain fields and to improve laboratory hardware conditions and so on. Professor Wang Yu, an expert in the group, gave suggestions on how to perfect the instruction manual of head teacher of the class and the sub-objectives of professional training. Professor Huang Jian spoke highly of the achievements of quality education and the reading sessions which have been in full swing. Some suggestions and suggestions are put forward on the evaluation of record of production practice and students' comprehensive ability.

Professor Zhang Jianguo, head of the expert group, summarized the feedback from the two expert groups, put forward expectations: it is hoped to continue to improve the output-oriented graduate evaluation mechanism and increase the proportion of teachers with engineering background and innovative experimental teaching projects. Besides, it is advisable that we attach great importance to professional certification and facilitate other professional development.

Zhao Guogang, Secretary of the School’s Communist Party Committee, expressed his sincere gratitude to all experts for their hard work and sincere guidance and noted that these suggestions were vital in the development and construction of the school. Then, he sincerely invited experts to continue to focus on and support the development of the school in the future.

Finally, President Li Dayong spoke highly of the diligent work of the expert group, expounded the profound influence of the investigation on the school, and put forward several suggestions on the construction of undergraduate specialty in terms of improving the professional construction paradigm, exploring the construction method of non-engineering specialty and promoting undergraduate education of the school.
