On the afternoon of June 27, Professor Jia Guozhu—the Director of China Ergonomics Society, former Vice President of the School of Economics and Management, Beihang university, and doctoral supervisor—was invited to our Bohou forum and give an academic report entitled The Theory and Practise of China’s Manufacturing Service. The meeting was hosted by Professor Wang Yuqi—Vice President of the School of Management. Professor Wang Hongqi, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the School of Management, and some teachers, PhD and Master graduate students attended the report.

On behalf of the School of Management, Professor Wang Yuqi expressed a warm welcome to professor Jia Guozhu and introduced his research fields and academic achievement. In this report, professor Jia Guozhu introduced the overall situation of Chinese manufacturing industry, the strategic mission and emphasis of China Manufacturing 2025, Guidance on the development of service-oriented manufacturing and situations home and abroad of the service-oriented manufacturing. According to many transformation cases of foreign and domestic company, such as General Electric, Sinosteel Xingtai Machinery&Mill Roll company, Rolls-Royce, Qingdao Red Collar Clothing company, Weichai Power company, etc, professor Jia Guozhu analyzed the connotation, characteristics, patterns and value of service transformation. It includes many service-oriented manufacturing mode, such as innovative design, customization services, product life cycle management, system solutions, information value-added services, Related financial services and intelligent services, and look forward to the future development of service-oriented manufacturing trends. The contents of the report are rich, the teachers and students benefited. In the interactive part, professor Jia Guozhu answered many questions raised by teachers and students.

After the meeting, Dean Professor Qi Liangqun and Professor Jia Guozhu conducted a discussion. The two sides also discussed the next step of scientific research cooperation and academic exchange. Professor Sun Kai, director of the Faculty of Discipline and Business Administration, also attended the seminar.
