On November 9, the 2019 “Star Teacher” contest of Heilongjiang Province was held successfully in HUST. HUST team performed well in the competition and won the grand prize in the competition. The 2019 “Star Teacher” contest of Heilongjiang Province is an important provincial foreign language event hosted by the School of Foreign Languages of HUST. It is supervised and coordinated by the Higher Education Department of the Provincial Department of Education, and sponsored by the Foreign Language Teaching Professional Committee of Heilongjiang Province and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The contest team consisting of five teachers contestants including Wang Shurui, Zheng Erdong, Wang Yongqin, Chen Hong, Cao Fei, etc. of HUST passed the fierce competition of the preliminary and rematch, and competed with Harbin Normal University, Northeast Forestry University, Daqing Teachers College, Qiqihar University and other 12 universities in the province successfully qualified for the final. In the final, our team performed well, and won the Grand Prize. This competition will be held simultaneously with the 2019 FLTRP Star Teacher Contest. The team of HUST will be the only one of Heilongjiang province to go straight to the 2019 FLTRP Star Teacher Contest national finals, representing Heilongjiang Province.

Since 2019, the School of Foreign Languages of HUST has hosted the 2nd National High-tech Forum on Foreign Language Education Development of the Science and Technology Colleges and the 1st Undergraduate Foreign Language Innovation Competition, Harbin “Russian Spring” Sino-Russian College Student Russian Competition, and the 4th Northeast College Students Korean High-level events such as speech contests. The successful holding of the “Star Teacher” contest of Heilongjiang Province is a reflection of the leadership and organization of the School of Foreign Languages and the concentricity, cohesion, and combat effectiveness of the teachers and students.
