Young teachers are the hope of the future development of school. In order to conscientiously implement the spirit of the national and provincial ideological and political work conference, understand and master the developing demands of young teachers and enhance the sense of belonging and identity of young teachers to schools, the symposium was held in the Second Conference Room of the New Teaching Building at 9:30 am on September 8th. The symposium was chaired by Lin Yi, director of Personnel Department.

At the meeting, centered on the theme of carrying forward the spirit of Hengheng, professor Yin Jinghua from the Faculty of Science introduced the outstanding contribution of the former principal Wang Daheng to the development and construction of the country and the dissolution of the school. He hopes that young teachers will bear in mind the earnest exhortations of the former principal Wang Daheng and carry forward his firm ideals and belief, sincere patriotic feelings, noble moral sentiments and rigorous scholarship attitude, adhere to the teaching of moral and education and to be the sincere friend and guide of the students to ensure their sound development.

During the course of the discussion, young teachers expressed their thoughts, exchanged experience, shared opinions around teaching methods, research, students training, business training and many other closely related topics according to their own experience. They have also changed a lot of useful suggestions and opinions on current school teachers training system, curriculum, research environment and resource sharing, campus culture construction and inheritance, education and teaching reform.

After listening carefully to the teachers' speeches, Vice-Chancellor Fang Wenbin expressed warm welcome to the newly recruited teachers on behalf of the school and gave the teachers an early Teacher’s Day wishes. He pointed out that the joining of new teachers will not only inject fresh blood, adding a new force, but will also bring new hope for the development and construction of the school. He encouraged teachers to remember the earnest enjoin the general secretary Xi Jinping to become a “four good”teacher when he paid a visit to teachers in Beijing Normal University. At the same time, he put forward four new hope for new recruits: One is to have faith. To strengthen the ideals and faith, cultivate moral sentiment to pass the value of life and the meaning of life to students and win respect from the students; Second is to have wisdom. Do more reading, reflection and enhance personal temperament, improve the level of teaching and to be a good example for students; Third is to have innovation. Not only teachers themselves need to be innovative, but also they need to inspire students to develop their thinking and innovation; Four is to have planning. Students need to have life plan for themselves and at the same time make plan for their scientific research, expand the direction of scientific research and enhance the level of scientific research to make contributions to the construction of our common spiritual home. In the end, he highlighted that through our joint efforts, the future of Harbin University of Science and Technology will surely be bright!
