At 14:00, June27, hosted byVice Party Secretary Meng Shangjiu,thecommencementfor HUST’s graduates of2017 was held grandly in her Gym Maneuver Center.

Together with nearly 7,500 fresh graduates, most of HUST’s leaders, including Party Secretary Zhao Guogang and President Li Dayong, PLA Rocket Force representative Liu Changfa, deans of all schools, some teachers and alumni representatives as well as current undergraduates, attended the commencement.

After rituals of playing national anthem and HUST anthem, Vice President Liu Shenghui,or the vice chairman ofHUSTAcademic Degree Evaluation Committee, read out the correspondent resolutions for awarding bachelor degrees of2017, while President Li Dayongor the chairman ofHUSTAcademic Degree Evaluation Committee, awarded diplomas of bachelor degrees for 64 graduates from different majors.Vice Party Secretary Lu Yan, read outthe correspondent resolutions for commending excellent graduates of2017, Wang Zhihao, Secretary of HUST Discipline Inspection Commissionread out the correspondent resolutions for awarding excellent graduates as volunteers serving China’s less-developed areas of2017.The presented HUST leading staff members and distinguished guests awarded diplomas and prizes to the award winners.

ThenLi Wenjuan, Guo Hengbo, Hou Biaobiao and Hou Wenqimade their own statements in turns on behalf of HUST teachers, graduates,current undergraduatesandalumni individually.

At last President Li delivered his speech in which, he made an outstanding lecture as well as an inspiration on everyone presented. On the one hand, President Li extended his heartfelt congratulation and blessing, on behalf of HUST, to all graduates on the point of leaving their Alma Mater and entering society, as well as their parents and teachers who had managed to help them finish school; on the other hand, he also summarized honors all these fresh graduates had gained to HUST during the last four years, and gave them instructive encouragement on leading a happy, healthy and successful life.(Photo by Liu Chang)
