In 2016, China witnessed an increasing number of people making innovations or launching businesses. The policy of encouraging people to start businesses and innovate has turned out to be a new way of economic and social advancement.
By conforming to the rules formulated by the country and the province concerning innovation and business establishment, university-based science and technology park in HUST has coordinated with the university in their efforts to upgrade the system geared towards educating and practicing how to start businesses and make innovations. “Incubators” have been established for teachers and students, and a coordinated system has been created. Furthermore, relevant projects have achieved favorable results, such as the possibility of being industrialized. Outstanding talents are also being cultivated during the process.
In the year of 2016, the science and technology park made impressive achievements, including the introduction of 36 high-quality science and technology-based companies to the university, thus increasing the number of companies in the university to 165. The accomplishments made so far were also recognized by the provincial government. Other achievements include the first listed company in the park, Fuzeshun Biotechnology Company of Heilongjiang Province.
In the year of 2016, Venture Valley of the science and technology park was launched, with an area of 1000 square meters. When the construction of the valley is finished, the park will be expanded to 2000 square meters.
In the year of 2016, students entrepreneurship team of the park won a range of awards, such as the third prize of 2016 National RoboMasters (Northeastern Area) , third prize of Provincial Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and outstanding award of 5thNational Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Heilongjiang Province). This year saw the largest number of prizes received by the team.
In the year of 2016, the park, as an outstanding representative of the provincial industry, gave keynote speech in a working conference about innovation, incubators, business set-ups in the province.
The achievements made in the whole year are a miniature of the progress made so far by the national construction of science and technology park. Under the effective leadership of theCPC HUST, the professional team in the park, guided by park leaders, have overcome considerable difficulties. Their efforts have been paid off, and the park has secured an important position in the province, and even in the whole country.
