At the invitation of our university, a delegation comprising three membersfrom Moscow State University, including Professor Aleksei N. Kuznetsov,Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Serguei V. Savilov, and Dr. Yana Platonova, visited our campus from August 29th to August 31st. President Liu Xia met with the Russian experts, accompanied byVicePresident Chen Qingguo,professor Shen Zexiang from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, relevant leaders and faculty from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. They participated in the meeting and engaged in discussions and exchanges.

President Liu Xia extended a warm welcome to Academician Aleksei N. Kuznetsov, providing an introduction to our university’s distinctive academic characteristics and advantageous disciplines. He also expressed gratitude for the long-term support from Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences.The twosides have successfully organized two international academic forums. Additionally, collaborative research efforts with our university’s honorary professor, Academician Sergey M. Aldoshin from the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the team led by Academician Valery V. Lunin from Moscow State University, have yielded fruitful outcomes.Subsequently, extensive and in-depth discussions took place concerning matters such as the establishment of an international joint laboratory, joint applications for international cooperation projects, faculty and student exchanges, and the promotion of scientific and technological collaboration. President Liu Xia expressed the hope that Academician Aleksei N. Kuznetsov would assist and support our university’s efforts in developing“Double First-Class”disciplines. He emphasized the importance of jointly exploring various significant project plans, implementation strategies, and talent cultivation in these areas.

Academician Aleksei N. Kuznetsov expressed gratitude for our university’s warm invitation and hospitality. Hesaidthat Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences were honored to engage in extensive collaboration with HarbinUniversity of Science andTechnology. Since the signing of theMOUbetween the two universities, both teams have maintained close communication and cooperation. Practical collaborative research has been conducted in areas such as new energy and new materials.Further friendly cooperation between the two institutionswill be conductedin the future.

On August 30th, Academician Aleksei N. Kuznetsov delivered a fascinating academic lecture titled“Design of new inorganic compounds and materials based on intermetallic fragments”for the faculty and students of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He elaborated on Russian culture, the academic specialties of Moscow State University, the distribution of faculty and students within the university, recent research progress, and achievements of his research group. Additionally, he engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with the attending faculty and students.

The delegation visited the laboratories and engaged in detailed discussions with the leadership and professors regarding collaboration on research projects, visits between faculty and studentsfrom both sides, and joint graduate student training.
