The results of the 18th Excellent Achievement Award of Social Sciences were recently announced by the Prize-Awarding Committee of Heilongjiang Province Excellent Achievements of Social Sciences. Selection of the awards was carried out through procedures of individual application, preliminary selection in accordance with disciplines, categorized reevaluation, final assessment, and result announcement. Finally, 565 items of first prizes, second prizes, third prizes and winner’s prizes were awarded. HUST altogether won 30 social science achievement prizes, including 4 top prizes, 2 second prizes, 10 third prizes and 14 winner’s prizes.
Excellent Achievement Award of Social Sciences in Heilongjiang Province is awarded every two years, aiming at mobilizing social scientists in Heilongjiang Province, enhancing their motivation and creativity, and promoting the prosperity of philosophy and social sciences in Heilongjiang Province. This year’s evaluation has received great attention from HUST Party Committee and relevant leaders, who mobilized and cooperated with relevant schools to organize the application in an orderly manner, and invited experts to give advice. HUST Social Science Association, as HUST’s application platform, organized experts to examine the preliminary application materials. Through preliminary evaluation, 43 excellent achievements were selected to the Heilongjiang Federation of Social Sciences. The achievements include books, research reports and papers, with the disciplines ranging from management, economics, party history and party building, Marxism-Leninism, philosophy, law, and linguistics. After the preliminary evaluation, reevaluation and final evaluation, HUST received altogether 30 awards.
Being the highest provincial prize in the field of social science research, the award exerts profound impact on provincial social science circles and attracts great attention from social science researchers. The 30 awards represent the remarkable achievements of social science research made by HUST in recent years, and also recognitions of HUST social science workers. HUST has attached great importance to the promotion of scientific research for long, encouraging and guiding teachers and researchers to innovate and produce outstanding scientific research achievements. These practices have helped HUST to achieve fruitful results in prize-awarding works. These accomplishments play an active role in fostering the prosperity of social sciences in Heilongjiang Province and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of economy and society of the Province.
