On April 8,2017, the 8th“Lanqiao Cup” NSITPC (National Software and Information Technology Professionals’ Contest), organized by Talent Exchange Center of China’s MIIT, was simultaneously held in different Contest centers of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including HUST’s School of Software, which was one of Software Contest centers for NSITPC, Heilongjiang division. Over 40,000 students from more than 1,200 universities and colleges throughout China signed up for the individual’s competition of this contest.
As a team firstly granted the qualification to participate in Software Contest in Group A, which was originally for 211 / 985 universities and colleges only, HUST ranked the top among all Heilongjiang participating teams, by winning 152 provincial awards, including 17 first awards of all 46 provincial ones ( cf: 14 for HIT, 11 for HEU, 3 for NAU,and 1 for NFU), and 42 second ones. Furthermore, in Electronics Contest held in other Contest centers of Heilongjiang Division, 70 HUST contestants achieved thrilling success as well, by winning 40 provincial awards, including 5 first awards of all 14 provincial ones, and 7 second ones. With the leading number of awards, HUST was also granted the awards of “The Best Team” and “The Best Organization for Software & Electronics Contest”.
In the last two years, engineering education certification work was actively promoted in HUST and great efforts were made in hosting various contests or helping undergraduates to participate in such contests.It is the third time for HUST to host NSITPC, Heilongjiang, in ran, which has become an innovation platform for teaching & practicing to help her cultivate so-called “new engineers” with ideally high and composite quality.
