Invited by Belarusian State University and University of Chemnitz, Germany, President Li Dayong visited these two universities from Oct. 26th, 2011 to Nov.3rd, 2011, accompanied by Mr. Xi Zhaohui，Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department. The visit achieves the expected goal and reaches complete success.
Belarusian State University was founded in 1921, it is the most renowned university and research center in the Republic of Belarus, and is one of the four famous national universities in Former Soviet Union. The cooperation between our university and Belarusian State University started from 2004. From then on, the two universities have established the communication modes as setting up China-Belarus Engineering and Technology Cooperation Center, exchanging visiting scholars, establishing teachers training, exchanging foreign students and co-educating students of master and doctor degrees.
It is the 90-year anniversary in October 2011. At the Anniversary Celebration Conference, 28 delegations from 15 countries have attended this event on Oct. 28th, 2011. Director of Office of the Republic of Belarus and Council Chairman have attended and addressed the meeting. Our President Li Dayong, as the representative of all foreign universities, has delivered a speech at the meeting.
During the following visit, President Li Dayong meets with the President of Belarusian State University Sergey V. Ablameyko. They exchange views on long-term cooperation and sign new contracts on cooperation and exchanging students, which lays a solid foundation on further cooperation and communication. President Li Dayong also visits Mr. Lu Guicheng, Ambassador of China’s Embassy in Belarus.
University of Chemnitz, Germany was founded in 1836, which has great reputation in the German industry. During the visit, Vice PresidentDietrich R.T.Zahn ofUniversity of Chemnitz meets our President Li Dayong. They introduce the universities of their own, especially exchanging information on developing extensive cooperation in educational and research fields. President Li Dayong also meets Director of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology,Madhukar Chandra, and visits the related laboratories.
