On June 4, HUST Shanghai Alumni Association held HUST fellowship activity in Yayue, Shanghai. Five hundred alumni from different grades, disciplines and geographical locations gathered together to review their friendship and attachment to HUST. President Li Dayong attended and addressed the activity. The former Vice General Secretary Du Guangchun, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Director Chen Qingguo, Vice Director of the Teaching Office Song Qingkun and Alumni Office Director Wang Qi were also present.
At the very beginning, Shanghai Alumni Director Liu Fenglong (Grade 83) extended his welcome speech. He expressed his gratitude towards the leaders and teachers of HUST, and the representatives from other HUST Alumni Association. Wang Qi briefly extended his best wishes towards the alumni association and introduced the general plan and the emphasis of the General Alumni Association in 2016 and 2020. Subsequently, Li Dayong addressed the alumni. During his speech, he initially introduced the status quo and the positioning of HUST. He pointed out that it is the diligence and intelligence of the general alumni that adds glory to the fame of HUST. It is the practice of the alumni that consistently embodies the spirit of HUST. Li Dayong praised highly for the work of Shanghai Alumni Association. On behalf of all the faculty in HUST, he expressed his sincere gratitude for their work.
The activity comprised three parts: the first was “The Memory of Songhua River”, the second “The Celebration of Huangpu River”, and the third “The Expectations in New Era”. Songs and photos evoked the sweet memory of the alumni’s campus life. Representatives from other Alumni Association presented on the stage and congratulated the successful conclusion of the activity. The activity concluded in enthusiastic atmosphere and the alumni presented are reluctant to leave.
