At the invitations of Vice President Zhou Yixiong of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Vice President Li Wenlong of National Taipei University of Technology, President Zhang Guangzheng of Chung Yuan Christian University, President Zheng Cangsheng of Chung Hua University and President Zhong Renqin of Chaoyang University of Technology, Vice President Fang Wenbing led a delegation of three to visit the above five universities from May 5th to 11th. Meanwhile, the delegation was invited to exchange ideas with Ye Hongdeng, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dongguan Taiwanese Nursery Education Fund. The delegation and the leaders of the above five universities as well as the Fund carried on extensively thorough exchange and discussion, reached cooperation intention. With the Chung Yuan Christian University, a Letter of Intent for Academic Exchange and Cooperation between Harbin University of Science and Technology and Chung Yuan Christian University was signed. The visit gained the intended purpose and was a complete success.
Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Taipei University of Technology, both with similar professional settings to HUST, are the top famous universities in Taiwan. During the visit, the two universities both expressed the hope to cooperate with HUST in education and scientific research and other fields. They could provide some scholarship projects and self-supporting student projects for the students to study there and would like to carry out pragmatic cooperation in graduate education and scientific research. Chung Hua University and Chaoyang University of Technology are the partner schools with HUST with many years of cooperation. President Zheng Cangsheng of Chung Hua University and President Zhong Renqin of Chaoyang University of Technology hoped that through the visit, HUST would deepen the understanding, enlarge the scale of students’ exchange, strengthen the cooperation of scientific research, and stimulate teachers’ communication.
