On the morning of August 7, 2024, a delegation of four people, led by Li Fuping, Director of the Research Institute of Heilongjiang Yunfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., visited HUST to explore opportunities for scientific research cooperation in new energy vehicles. Vice President Chen Qingguo attended the research visit, and relevant personnel from the HUST’s Science and Technology Department, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center of Automotive Electronic Drive Control and System Integration also participated in it.
The delegation visited the Innovation Center for Renewable Energy Motor Systems and Key Materials, laboratories in the Renewable Energy Motor Building, the Heilongjiang Provincial Joint Laboratory for Cold Region Electric Energy Storage and Efficient Utilization (International Cooperation), and the University’s Science and Technology Achievement Exhibition Hall. Li Fuping introduced Yunfeng Automobile’s overall plan to establish a full industry chain encompassing design, research and development, manufacturing, and sales in Harbin, aiming to build a manufacturing base for complete vehicles tailored for the international market. He highly affirmed HUST’s innovative approach in deepening its involvement in the field of electromechanical equipment manufacturing and fostering new productivity through technological innovation. He expressed wishes that both parties could engage in in-depth cooperation in new energy vehicles, including the joint construction of research platforms, the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and talent cultivation, to achieve the development goal of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
Vice President Chen Qing’guo expressed that the university had a solid foundation of cooperation with enterprises such as Geely Automobile, Toyota Motor, and AVIC Harbin Dongan Engine (Group) Co., Ltd., in areas including new energy motor systems, engine component research and development, and alloy material research. The transformation of research achievements has significantly contributed to the development of these enterprises. For the next step, HUST hopes to expand broader cooperation with Yunfeng Automobile by engaging in collaborative research efforts, jointly establishing high-level research platforms, promoting the transformation of high-quality achievements, and constructing a cooperative mechanism featuring complementary advantages and industry-academia-research collaboration. This will advance the development of new productive forces and support the sustainable revitalization of Heilongjiang Province.
