In order to further study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping, to accelerate thecultivationof outstanding engineersto deepenthe reform of the province’s graduate education, and to create a new highland for professional degree graduate education,advance the province’s graduate education with high quality, the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and Harbin University of Science and Technology jointly organized the first "Heilongjiang Professional Degree Education Development Forum" on the afternoon of October 9th. The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Cheng Shuang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Association, Shen Yan, Director of Yan Hua, Project Manager Cheng Yan, Project Manager Yan Yujia, Director of the Provincial Degree Committee Office, Yu Tao, and Vice Presidents of Northeastern University, Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Petroleum University, HeilongjiangEngineeringUniversityand other graduate education unit leaders.
The event was hosted by our university’s vice president, Du Jun, and the opening remarks were delivered by the President Liu Xia. Liu introduced the historical evolution and development process of the university, pointing out that the university is oriented towards serving social needs and improving the engineering practical abilities of professional degree graduate students, and has constructed an operational structure of“Center + School + Workstation”. The university has established the first batch of graduate joint training workstations with 12 units, and has relied on these workstations and the university’s professional degree categories to initiate the construction of provincial industry-education integrated graduate training bases, striving to provide high-level specialized talents for the comprehensive revitalization of Heilongjiang.
At the forum, experts and scholars from Northeastern University, China Agricultural University, Harbin Engineering University and other universities delivered reports, delving into and addressing issues related to professional degree graduate education, and striving to achieve a more extensive, high-level, and in-depth integration development to better serve the needs of national strategies and regional economic and social development.
Intheconcluding speech, Cheng Shuang, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, pointed out that the development of professional degrees is a strategic focus of education and development reform, and is the main channel for training high-level applied and specialized talents. In recent years, the Provincial Department of Education, in collaboration with graduate education institutions across the province, has steadily promoted the development of professional degree graduate education through multiple projects. The Provincial Department of Education will continue to coordinate planning and layout, industry-education integration, comprehensive reform, project construction, and quality assurance, and will strengthen exchange and learning between schools to comprehensively improve the level of professional degree graduate education in the province and strive to create a new highland for professional degree graduate education.
The successful hosting of the first Heilongjiang Professional Degree Graduate Education Development Forum is of great significance for the work of professional degree graduate education in Heilongjiang.
