HUST Extends its Warm Welcome to 2023 Freshmen
On August 26th, newly-enrolled students from all over the country gathered at HUST, ready to embark on the most beautiful years of their lives. Today‘s campus is also full of warm atmosphere due to their arrival.
School leaders attached great importance to the new students reception. At 10 a.m., the Secretary of the University Party Committee, Zhao Lin, the President, Liu Xia, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhao Shuishan, and the Vice President, Du Jun, visited the reception site with the company of school staff, their steps covers various spots including the reception points, volunteer service stations, student apartments, and teaching buildings. They interacted with the 2023 freshmen and their parents, inquired about the students’majors, impressions of enrollment, and their future plans, then encouraged them to adapt the new environmentand spare no efforts to become pioneers, innovators, and contributors in the new era. The university leaders gained a detailed information of the reception process and distributed school aid to students in financial need. At the reception site, the leaders stopped at each spot to inquire and listen, comprehensivelyacknowledgingthe progress of reception work, the registration process for new students, and accommodation arrangements. They expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the staff and volunteers working tirelessly.
In order to ensure the implementation of the reception, the school made detailed plans and careful deployment, held special meetings to formulate relevant plans to ensure all things work well. Our school’s intelligent reception system counts the freshmen registration data in real time and puts it on the big screen, which improves the statistical efficiency of information processing. As in previous years, the school prepared free noodles for all freshmen, and set up free temporary rest points for their parents in the canteen. All kinds of heart-warming actions are all comes from HUST.
During the visit, the school leaders require all units to cooperate with each other, provide thoughtful and meticulous services for the freshmen, create a warm and harmonious campus environment. All departments, relevant person, representatives of teachers and students, volunteers and reporters from the New Media Center went to the reception site at 6:00 a.m. to ensure the orderly, smooth and efficient registration of freshmen. As of 10 p.m. today, the university has registered a total of 7,220 new students, including 96 doctoral students, 1,391 master's students, 4,209 undergraduate students on the home section, and 1,524 undergraduate students at the Rongcheng campus.
