On the morning of June 14th, the school convened a meeting in the Second Conference Room of the Teaching Building to welcome the newly appointed school leaders. All members of the school’s Party Committee attended the meeting, which was conductedbothonline and offline. The introduction session was chaired by Zhao Lin, the Party Committee Secretary.

During the meeting, Zhao Lin read out the decision made on June 2nd, 2023, by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Comrade Zhao Shuishan was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin University of Science and Technology, and Comrade Lin Yi was appointed as thevicepresident of Harbin University of Science and Technology (with a one-year probationary period) and as a member of the Party Committee. Zhao Lin congratulated both new leaders on their appointments, expressing hope that they would swiftly adapt to their roles, familiarize themselves with the relevant domains, and actively engage in their responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of upholding standards and not disappointing the trust and expectations of both the Provincial Party Committee and the entire school faculty and students. He also encouraged them to contribute towards establishing the university as a distinguished domestic first-class university in science and technology, together with the Party Committee.

PresidentLiu Xia congratulated the two new appointees, highlighting their strong political qualities and exceptional work capabilities. He urged them to cherish the opportunity, transition effectively into their roles, and collaborate with other team members to excel in various tasks, thereby propelling the development of the university to new heights.

Subsequently, Zhao Shuishan, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Lin Yi, the Party Committee member andvicepresident, each delivered speeches at the meeting. Zhao Shuishan affirmed his firm support for the Provincial Party Committee’s decision and outlined three key points: reinforcing political integrity, strengthening loyalty, and maintaining a clear political stance; swiftly adjusting to their roles, ensuring the effective implementation of work tasks, and assuming greater responsibility; and upholding integrity, adhering strictly to standards, and contributing towards the high-quality development of the school. Lin Yi echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing adherence to political discipline and regulations, maintaining political loyalty, remembering the mission of educating students for the Party and the country, fostering a broader perspective, enhancing unity and cooperation, actively supporting the work of the Party Committee Secretary and thePresident, upholding integrity, fulfilling dual responsibilities earnestly, continuously enhancing learning, improving professional skills, and jointly striving for the development and construction of the school.

During the meeting, members of the Party Committee delivered speeches, expressing congratulations to the two newly appointed school leaders and reaffirming their unwavering support for the Provincial Party Committee’s decision. They pledged unity under the leadership of the school’s Party Committee and vowed to contribute to the development of the University of Science and Technology.
