HUST’sPhDStudent Awarded Ye Shenghua Scholarship

Recently, following expert selection by the Instrumental Discipline Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education(IDTSCME), 9 doctoral students and 2 master’s students from world-class universities such as Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Tianjin University, and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) have been honored with the“Ye Shenghua Scholarship”for the year 2023. Wu Haijun, aGrade-2020 doctoral student majoring in Instrument Science and Technology at the School of Measurement and Control Technology and Communication Engineering at HIT, has received this award, marking the first time a graduate student from HUSThas achieved this honor.
To encourage diligent learning, hard research, bold exploration, and innovative endeavors of graduate students majoring in Instrument Science and Technology, and to promote the cultivation of innovative talents in this field,IDTSCMEhas established the“Ye Shenghua Scholarship”.Named after Mr. Ye Shenghua,an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, this scholarship is the highest honor among the scholarships for graduate students in the field of Instrument Science and Technology.

List of Winners for the 2023 Ye Shenghua Scholarship
Wu Haijun, a student from the School of Measurement and Control Technology and Communication Engineering, is a doctoral student majoring in Instrument Science and Technology with continuous studies at the master’s and doctoral levels. Under the careful guidance of his mentor, he has conducted theoretical and experimental research on the“Physical Implementation of High-Dimensional Quantum Interfaces”. Immersed in laboratory work every day, Wu Haijun has achieved significant growth and fruitful research results over the years. During his academic journey, he has twice received national scholarships and published several high-quality articles in authoritative optical journals such as Phys. Rev. Appl. and Opt. Lett. Recently, he has also published original and impactful research results in leading physics and optics journals like Phys. Rev. Lett. and Optica. These industry-recognized high-level achievements demonstrate that Wu Haijun ranks among the top graduate students in China and have earned him recognition from the Ministry of Education’s expert committee. Alongside eight other outstanding doctoral students from top domestic disciplines, he has been awarded the“Ye Shenghua Scholarship”for the current year.
