On June 29th, the closing ceremony of the 6th“Harbin Russian Spring”China-Russia University Students Russian Language Competition was held online. This event was hosted by the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province and the Amur Oblast Education and Science Office, organized by Harbin University of Science and Technology and the Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University in Russia. This competition was participated by 63 teams comprising representatives from 53 universities and 10 secondary schools from various countries, including China’s Peking University, Renmin University of China, Heilongjiang University, as well as participants from Russia, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, among others. The event’s domestic and international influence was further expanded. Ding Zhexue, Deputy Inspector of the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province,Yakovleva, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the Amur Oblast in the Russian Federation, the Minister of Education and Science of the Amur Oblast,Chen Qingguo, Vice President of Harbin University of Science and Technology; Hukina, President of the Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University in Russia, and Zubritsky, President of the“Russian World”Foundation’s Far East Branch, attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches.
In his speech, Ding Zhexue, Deputy Inspector of the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province, highlighted the deepening practical cooperation between China and Russia across various fields. He emphasized that, against the backdrop of strengthening bilateral cooperation, both countries collaborate to enrich educational partnerships, contributing to the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. The“Harbin Russian Spring”China-Russia University Students Russian Language Competition has diversified the Russian language competitions, broadened the channels for Russian language learners to enhance their proficiency and stimulated innovative thinking. This initiative provides a beneficial pathway for nurturing excellent Russian language professionals and contributes to facilitating China-Russia cooperative exchanges and interactions.
In her address, Yakovleva, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Amur Region of the Russian Federation and Minister of Education and Science of the Amur Region, highlighted that for Russian language learners, the 6th Russian language competition is gradually evolving into a platform for demonstrating creativity and fostering friendship. The achievements obtained through the Russian language competition indicate an increasing interest in the Russian language and culture, with participants continually improving their proficiency in the Russian language.
Vice president Chen Qingguo extended a warm welcome to all leaders, guests, and participants. He expressed gratitude to all supporting units involved in the event and said that the year marks the 6th“Harbin Russian Spring”, which is aimed at strengthening connections and interactions among Chinese and Russian university students, as well as high school students, igniting enthusiasm for innovation among learners of the Russian language.
In her address, RectorHukina, on behalf of all faculty and students at Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University, extended a warm welcome to the participating contestants and expressed gratitude to the hardworking judges. She highlighted that over the past six years, the“Harbin Russian Spring”competition has become more professional. The quality and standards of the entries have notably improved, showing a diverse range of genres. She emphasized that the competition is steering toward new directions in promoting the Russian language and culture.
In his address, Zubitsky, Chairman of the Far Eastern Branch of the “Russian World” Foundation, mentioned attending the inaugural event in Harbin in 2017. He experienced the allure of the competition and acknowledged its significance and impetus for Russian language learners.
The judges summarized and commented on the entries, noting the diversity and impressive quality of the works prepared by contestants in thisyear’scompetition. The judges conducted the award ceremony online. Among the universities, Peking University (Russian language drama), Dalian University of Foreign Languages (Russian language song), Kaluga State University (Russian language dance), and Manzhouli Russian Vocational College (Russian language recitation) received first prizes. In the secondary school category, Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute Chengdu Affiliated Middle School (Russian language dance), Jableh Al-Mutawakkilah Secondary School in Syria, Aktobe City’s 72T Secondary School in Kazakhstan, Secondary School 45 in Uzbekistan (Russian language recitation), Secondary School 17 in Khamashi, Uzbekistan (Russian language song), and the “Far Eastern Continuing Education Center” (International Language School) in the Autonomous Non-Commercial Educational Organization (Russian language drama) secured first prizes.
The sixth “Harbin Russian Spring” competition provided a platform for Russian language learners to exchange ideas, contributing to the development ofChina-Russiacultural exchanges. Anticipation is high for the next gathering, hoping to meet again next year.
