HUST’s Beijing Alumni Association Holds 2012’s Get-together

On May 5, the 2012’s get-together for HUST alumni working in Beijing was held,which attracted more than 370 attendees.

Invited by Li Yunlong, the chairman of HUST’s Beijing Alumni Association, the organizer of the get-together, Yang Chun, HUST’s school union chairman and Alumni headquarters’ vice president, attended the get-together and read off a letter written by President Li Dayong which spoke highly of the contribution that Chairman Li as well as all other Beijing alumni had made for the development of HUST, and expressed heart-felt gratitude and best wishes to them and Beijing Alumni Association.Chairman Yangalsoinvited Chairman Li to returnAlma Mater in his convenience in the name of PresidentLi.

On behalf of the whole staff of Beijing Alumni Association, Chairman Li delivered a welcome speech to all attendees, esp. the guests from Alma Mater. On summarizing the previous working experience of Association, he proposed a “five-havings” guideline which gained a unanimously approval among all attendees.

Representatives from Guangzhou Alumni Associations, etc., also attended the get-together.

To extend the spirit ofHUST’s Alumni Associations, a ceremony of charitydonation and a charity bazaar of collections donated by alumni was held during the get-together and the banquet followed. All proceeds (some RMB110,000 yuan ) from the donationandthe auction will go to the 2012’s Student Award Fund ofBeijing Alumni Association, andthegrant-in-aid for humble-family students studying in HUSTas well.
