Hosted by HUST, organized by School of Automation, International Conference of Measurement, Information and Control 2012 was held in HUST from May 17thto May 19th. With HUST Vice President Wu Junfeng as chairman of the conference, and numerous celebrated scholars from Great Britain, Russia, Japan and South Korea as committee members of the international academic steering committee, more than 200 experts and scholars at home and abroad gathered in Harbin, the Ice City, discussing and exchanging the latest research development and its current situation in four fields including measuring and testing technology and sensors, computer technology and information processing, control theory and its application, and mechatronics.
Mr. Justin Wang, doctor of Computer Science and Engineering of La Trobe University in Australia, chaired the opening ceremony, and HUST Vice President Wu Junfeng delivered the opening speech. After the opening ceremony, Prof. Sun Lining, dean of School of Electromechanics of Su Zhou University, Doctor Justin Wang from the specialty of Computer Science and Engineering of La Trobe University in Australia, and Prof. D.A. Karras from Department of Automation of Chalkis Institute of Technology in Greece respectively made speeches with the titles ofThe progresses and trends of MEMS technology, Computational Discovery of Regulatory Elements in DNA SequencesandOn Integrating Computational Intelligence Schemes in a Multi Agent Systems Framework to Improve Large Scale Cellular Network Resource Management.
MIC2012 received 351 theses in all, among which 238 were selected as the participating theses after examined and approved by experts. The proceedings of the conference would be published by IEEE, and all these theses would be included by EI and ISTP. During the conference, the experts and scholars listened to the keynote speeches carefully, actively participated in the discussion in affiliated conference sites, made wide and in-depth exchange by means of the high-level academic platform, and spoke highly of the organization, reception and actual results of the conference.
MIC2012 not only provides an exchange platform for universities of science and engineering in the field of science and technology, but improves the academic level, international popularity and influence of HUST as well, achieving the aim of mutual exchange and understanding.
