HUST Contestants Win Awards in Mathematical Contest in Modeling-2012

MCM (Mathematical Contest in Modeling)-2012 was held on Feb.10th-14th. Seven teams of 21 students from HUST took part in the contest. After 96 hours’ hard working, thecontestants of HUST won twoMeritorious Winners prizes and one Honorable Mention Winner prize, which was a major breakthrough in the amountofMeritorious Winner.

MCM is hosted by TheConsortium for Mathematics and Its Application, funded by the National Science Foundation, andis the unique large-scale and international Mathematical Contest in Modeling of the world. Because of its challenge and fairness, the contest is welcomed by more and more domestic and foreign students of the well-known colleges, and many domestic and foreign research institutes and enterprises regard it as an important basis to measure students’ quality and ability.

These achievements are earned because of the contestants’ hard working and innovation, because of the instructors’ dedication, also because of our school’s great emphasis on the study and technology competition activities of the college students and the support of the Library, the Network Information Center, and the Logistics Group. And these achievements play a positive and encouraging role in improving the abilities and level of technology innovation of our students.
