On May 16th, HUST and Yongkang Municipal Government co-hosted the forum on science cooperation and talents exchange in No. 1 Building of HUST. The Vice Director of the Yongkang People’s Congress Xu Zhongfei, the Assistant Mayor Jin Yuemin, the Director of the Science and Technology Bureau Cheng Keke, the Vice President of Hust Wei Xinlao, the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Zhang Xiaohong, and the General Manager of the Science and Technology Park Yu Pengtian attended the forum, which was hosted by Yu Pengtian.

Wei Xinlao described in detail the history, profile, faculty, research advantage, and technological innovation of HUST. Jin Yuemin gave introduction to the feature, economic strategy and achievement of Yongkang and the urgent requirement for technology and talents.

During the forum, Zhang Xiaohong, Shao Junpeng, the Director of the School of Material Science and Engineering Sun Fenglian, the Vice Director of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Song Lixin presented the science and technological achievements and the profile of their respective school. After the forum, experts from electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and material engineering of HUST exchange ideas with representatives from Yongkang achieving agreement in cooperation.

Yongkang, located in the middle part of Zhejiang Province, enjoys unique geographical features and picturesque scene. It is renowned for its long tradition of casting. Under the international economic crisis, Yongkang is praised for its stable economic performance constituting the largest hardware manufacturing, collection and distributing base in China. For promoting technological development, it makes every endeavor to attract talents and conduct cooperation in scientific information, commercialization of scientific achievements and talents cultivation.

The success of the forum laid a solid foundation for the cooperation between HUST and enterprises, which may definitely promote the scientific and talents cooperation of HUST.
