On July 1, a workshop was held on innovative talent cultivation in Holiday Center for HUST’s Teaching Staff. As the dean of HUST’sSchool of Material Science and Engineering, the organizer, Prof. Sun Fenglian chaired the workshop, which attracted more than 30 members, including HUST’s President Li Dayong, Vice President Guo Erjun and all the members of the School’s academic council, the academic degrees committee and the leading staff, as well as some adjunct professors and part-time ME tutors the school recruited from society this April.
President Li Dayong delivered an important speech. He reviewed the achievement HUST has made on cultivating innovative talents, acknowledged the substantial supports all enterprises concerned gave to HUST on her talent-cultivating innovation project, and expressed welcome to more concrete opinions and suggestions from them.
Vice President Guo delivered another speech to propose his suggestions on the orientation, ways of implement and safeguard andincentive mechanism, etc. of innovative talent cultivation.
As the representatives of HUST’s adjunct professors or part-time ME tutors, Zhou Jiang, General Manager of Northeast Light Alloy Corporation, Du Bing, Deputy Director of Harbin Welding Material Research Institute, LǔXinyu, director of technology department of Northeast Light Alloy Corporation, Liu Changjiang, assistant chief engineer of Harbin Turbine Factory of Harbin Electric Group, and Liu Honghui, chief expert of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, also publicized their own opinions on the workshop individually.
Dean Sun summarized the workshop at last. She pointed that the workshop was a successive practice ofSchool of Material Science and Engineeringafter her recruiting adjunct professors and part-time ME tutors and the workshop would be held regularly in the future. She believed that the School’s project of innovative talent cultivation should be accomplished more successfully with the help of all men of insights from both school and enterprises.
