During the 2012 HUST Conference Sessions of Continuing Education and Correspondence Course, Vice President Meng Shangjiu paid a special visit to Sichuan Star Cable Ltd. and Chengdu Textile College for investigation.
Sichuan Star Cable Ltd. is a new national-level high-tech enterprise specializing in electric wire and cable designing, developing, marketing and servicing. Having developed major production bases in both Sichuan Province and Anhui Province with 450 millionyuanannual value of production, it is one of the top 100 most profitable industrial enterprises with the largest scale in Sichuan Province, the leading special electronic cable enterprise in Southwest China, and one of the top 500 enterprises in machinery industry in China. In May, 2012, Sichuan Star Cable Ltd. came into the market at Shanghai Stock Exchange. On June 19th, accompanied by Deputy General Manager Yang Dexin, General Engineer Chen Guanggao and HUST alumni employed in Sichuan Star Cable Ltd. etc., the party headed by HUST Vice President Meng Shangjiu visited the base of production, the base of research and development, and had a cordial talk with more than 10 HUST alumni at a meeting.
On June 22nd, the party headed by Vice President Meng Shangjiu investigatedChengdu Textile College (CTC) and attended the meeting discussing the practicability of cooperation between the two parties in continuing education. CTC Party Secretary Wang Yunchang, Vice Party Secretary Li Jian and Vice President Huang Xiaoping attended the meeting.
CTC is the sole independently-organized college on textile operation and education in Southwest China and is among the first group selected for the model higher vocational colleges construction projects in Sichuan Province and the national key higher vocational colleges construction projects in China.
