A few days ago, the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province completed the expert reviews, and announced the result of “the winners for awards of the second session of Heilongjiang Provincial New Teaching Talents and the first session of Heilongjiang Provincial Teaching Experts of Universities and Colleges of Heilongjiang Province”. Dong Limin, the professor from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Xu Yongming, the associate professor from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering won the Award of the second session of Heilongjiang Provincial New Teaching Talents. Lang Fei, the associate professor from the School of Foreign Languages, and Luo Laizhen, the associate professor from the School of Applied Sciences received the Award of the first session of Heilongjiang Provincial Teaching Experts. So far, four teachers in HUST won the Award of Heilongjiang Provincial New Teaching Talents, and two teachers were awarded as Heilongjiang Provincial Teaching Experts.
In recent years, HUST focuses on faculty development, and adheres to professors giving lectures to undergraduates, establishes long-term and effective young teachers training plan, and gives full play to the tradition of guiding and helping young teachers by the experienced. Additionally, through taking effective measures such as regularly holding teaching observation activities, and organizing basic teaching skills contests, a group of young teachers, with strong skills and rich methods in teaching, come to the fore.
Through this selection activity held by the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province, 30 teachers won the Award of New Teaching Talents and 30 teachers won the Award of Teaching Experts among 36 undergraduate colleges and universities in Heilongjiang Province. HUST young teachers receiving these honors owes to the effectiveness of the training program of young teachers, all HUST teachers’ joint efforts to keep forging ahead and their dedication to teaching.
