With the coming of the year of the snake, the new semester is approaching. A new semester means new expectation, hope, journey and harvest. At the beginning of the term, all units of the university were busy with the preparation.

The staff of the Office of Academic Affairs were still on duty during the winter holiday to collect the transcripts, make plans for the make-up examinations and arrange the examination monitoring staff with the teaching secretaries of all the schools. Before the semester, they started to arrange the courses schedule and do other work concerning the examinations. All of these guaranteed a good beginning of a new term.

The Logistics Group started to check the logistic and security situation of the school with the guidance of relevant leaders of the school and leaders of the Logistics Group. All the staff worked hard and had the spirit of making contributions, accomplishing the task concerning the accommodation of the students who still stayed on campus during winter holiday, cleaning up the ice and now, decorating the campus with the illuminations, cultivating the young plants in the greenhouse of the school center and other work. In the new semester, the staff of the Logistics Group will provide the students and teaching staff of the school with even better service with a new starting point, objective and measures.

The staff of the Division of Science and Technology still worked during the winter holiday to apply for the project, sign the contract and submit the achievements for the awards competition. The relevant leaders and the leaders of the Division of Science and Technology attended several working conferences held by the superior authorities and invited the relevant leaders of Information Department of National Research Foundation to HUST to give the counselling report for the national research foundation project application.

In order to make sure that the multi-media teaching would go on smoothly, the staff of the education technology office of the Division of Laboratory Management checked and repaired the multi-media equipment of 3 campuses of the university.

The Department of Personnel carried out the recommendation of 2012 Longjiang Scholars and 2013 Millions of Talents selection. What’s more, the relevant departments and Department of Personnel held the seminars on allowance allocation plan and professional qualification evaluation criteria modification to accelerate the personnel reform of the school.

The staff of the Department of Infrastructure Construction still worked during the vacation to do the work concerning the Baijiabao Teachers’ Apartment Construction and the acceptance check of the nanometer laboratory.
