On the afternoon of Feb. 23^rd, the first day of the school, HUST Party Committee held 2012 democratic life meeting in the second meeting room in the new main teaching building.

The university leaders, Gao Jun, Li Dayong, Du Guangchun, Zhao Hong, Wu Junfeng, Meng Dawei, Wei Xinlao, Lu Yan, Meng Shangjiu, Guo Erjun and Yang Chun attended the meeting, and minister of Party Committee Organization Department, Zhang Yongjun, attended the meeting without voting, and secretary of Party Committee, Gao Jun hosted the meeting. Zhang Yi, the vice minister of Provincial Party Committee Organization Department in Colleges and Universities directed the meeting.

The theme of this conference is to deeply carry out the spirit of the eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, to change the working style further, improve the scientific development of our university and fasten the university construction.

In the conference, university leadership, around the theme of the meeting, tightly link the thought and working practice, find out the weakness of leadership and individuals in the aspect of thinking, working style and job.

Secretary of the Party Committee, Gao Jun, gave the speech at the end of the meeting. He pointed out that each person who attended the democratic life meeting had made sufficient preparation, which was the prerequisite of the meeting. And every leader in our university contacted with the teachers and those who retired in the winter vacation and listen to the advice from them.

In order to strengthen the leadership construction of our university, Secretary of Party Committee, Gao Jun pointed out that first of all, we should study and improve the theoretical level. Secondly, among the leaders in our university, they should communicate more. And finally, we should improve the innovation spirit to strive for more development room.

Zhang Yi, the vice minister of Provincial Party Committee Organization Department in Colleges and Universities, pointed out that this democratic life meeting was paid much attention to, and all the members had prepared sufficiently before the meeting. She was moved so much that she believed that we can make more achievements in the university construction.

In the meeting, the university leadership analyzed and studied the 149 pieces of advice from the staff. They think the advice proposed by the teachers and students are workable and with great quality. They decided in the meeting that those which are beneficial to the university should be solved and implemented immediately, and those which are complicated should be followed and supervised so as to be solved soon.
