On Nov. 29th, President Li Dayong and Vice President Wei Xinlao visited “Efficient Cutting and Cutting Tool Lab”---the national and local joint engineering lab. The staff reported to Li Dayong the construction of the lab, and Li Dayong delivered his suggestion and supervision. The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Zhang Xiaohong, Vice Director Huang Jisheng and Vice Director Wu Mingyang accompanied them. The Dean of National and Local Joint Engineering Lab Liu Xianli, Vice Dean Zheng Minli, Vice Dean Jiang Bin, Vice Dean Yang Shucai, Vice Director of Engineering School Tan Shixin, Vice Director Sui Xiulin, and Vice Director Zhang Yongde attended the conference.
Li Dayong and Wei Xinlao visited the research team of the efficient cutting and listened to the reports about the construction of the lab. Liu Xianli reported the general work of the research team, the construction of the lab and its research platform. Jiang Bin gave an account of the goal, the scale, the task, and the previous work of the lab. Wei Xinlao discussed the location and the device of the lab with the staff and gave specific suggestion.
Li Dayong praised highly for the team construction, scientific research, and academic fruit conversion of the lab. He also pointed out that Efficient Cutting and Cutting Tool Lab is an essential platform for national cutting engineering research and innovation. HUST is going to give full support for the construction of the lab. The approval of the lab is hard won. Li Dayong expressed his hope that the lab would give full play of its advantage in efficient cutting and cutting tool engineering and contribute more to the development of the university.
