On May 15th, over 300 teachers and students from the School of Foreign Languages, School of Management, School of Economics witnessed the inauguration of BEC branch testing center in HUST in No. 1 Building of the South Campus.
BEC is one the most influential and authoritative test around the world, organized by Cambridge ESOL and recognized by 11,000 higher institutions, employers and government agencies around the world. In 1993, BEC is introduced by NEEA into Chinese mainland. In Heilongjiang Province, there are altogether two testing centers—Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin University of Commerce. Recently, under the joint effort of the leaders of the School of Foreign Languages, HUST realized its cooperation with HIT and became the branch testing center.
The inauguration ceremony is hosted by Prof. Zhen Yanhua, the Vice Director of Foreign Languages School. Prof. Fu Li, the Director of Foreign Languages School of HIT attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Prof. Jiang Yufeng, Director of Foreign Languages School expressed his gratitude towards the support from HIT, the presence and the guidance of Fu Li. He also expected the following cooperation between the two universities to further perform the task as a branch testing center.
Other guests attended the inauguration ceremony include Gong Changlong, Manager of the Northern District of Cambridge ESOL, Prof. Zhou Zhinan of HIT, Prof. Guo Hong of HUST.
Fu Li and Jiang Yufeng jointly inaugurated the branch testing center. After the ceremony, Gong Changlong and Zhou Zhinan delivered speeches respectively, offering valuable suggestions for students who are going to take BEC.
