We were informed that Journal of Harbin University of Science and Technology (the Journal hereinafter) has been cited by CSA and EBSCOhost of the US lately, which is a great breakthrough for the Journal and lays a solid foundation for the promotion of the quality of the Journal.
As is indicated in 2012 Effecting Factors Annals of Chinese Journals from CNKI, among all the comprehensive academic periodicals, the Journal’s citation rate increased from 1,279 of last year to 1,381 of this year, and the influencing factors increased from 0.504 of 2011 to 0.582 of 2012, ranking 90 out of 437 instead of 135 out of 430, a leap forward of 45 (second top of Heilongjiang comprehensive academic journals). The Journal has also been cited by many other important international database, such as SciFinder Scholar Web, Ulrich PD, ULRICHWEB, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, SCIE and so forth.
Journals of universities are an important means to reflect scientific research achievements and academic levels, to promote teaching and researching quality, and to publicize the academic works. The Journal itself is an achievement of scientific research, and meanwhile it is a direct reflection of scientific level of the researchers. In recent years, under the leadership of the party committee and administration of the university, with the support of all the colleges and departments concerned, especially with the joint efforts of Editor Liu Xianli and the Associate Editor Wang Ping, and all the staff members, the Journal has maintained its steady improvement in its development and service level.
The Journal attaches great importance to international exchanges, enhancing the public awareness through various means. Director of Editorial Office Yang Shuzhen and Associate Editor Wang Ping attended The Second Seminar for Key Academic Periodicals Issues, exchanged ideas on how to promote the influence of periodicals, and paid a visit to the director of The National Retrieval Agency, Professor Zhu Cheng, who laid a solid foundation for the citation work. And in August, the Journal attended ICMIC2013 held by Automatic College of our university, publicizing the Journal during the conference and opening a new international road for the Journal.
