Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued “The Discipline List of the Third Outstanding Engineers Cultivating Plan”(2013), 38. Electronic Science and Technology is approved and incorporated by the“Outstanding Program”. The discipline in“Outstanding Program” of HUST amounted to five, with 3 in national level and 2 in provincial level.

HUST has implemented “Outstanding Program” since September, 2010. In June, 2011, HUST was approved as the experimental university of the program, and Software Engineering and Metallic Materials Engineering became the initial experimental disciplines of the program. In Sep., 2011, HUST was incorporated into the “Outstanding Program” by the Ministry of Education. In Feb., 2012, Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation, and Automation was approved and incorporated into the program by the Ministry of Education. Currently, classes of “Outstanding Program” are in practice and the faculties are exploring the teaching model of engineering talents, which has laid solid foundation for innovative engineering talents.

HUST has attached great importance to the “Outstanding Program”, carried out teaching reform actively, and conducted the cooperation between the university and enterprises. We emphasizes the cultivating of practical ability and the constructing of practical training center to enhance the teaching quality.
