On November 4, accompanied by the Dean of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering Professor Wang Yiwen, Vice President Meng Dawei visited Xin Ya Group Co., LTD, the cooperative enterprise of the major of Mechanical Design & Manufacturing and its Automation for the Excellent Engineering Plan. Vice President Meng Dawei and HUST alumnus General Manager Sun Qingman, the leaders of the enterprises, as well as some student-interns had a meeting together. General Manager Sun Qingman extended a warm welcome to Vice President Meng Dawei and other leaders on behalf of the enterprise. The two parties exchanged ideas on the implementation of the Excellent Engineer Plan.

Since being approved as the implementation major for the Excellent Plan of the Ministry of Education, the major of Mechanical Design & Manufacturing and its Automation has assigned three groups of students to work and study in Xin Ya Group Co., LTD. The two parties, HUST and Xin Ya Group Co., LTD, have jointly explored a set of effective modes to cultivate engineering talents to implement the Excellent Plan, laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-level innovative engineering talents.

At the meeting, General Manager Sun Qingman highly commented the working and study performance of HUST student-interns; Vice President Meng Dawei expressed gratitude to the enterprise for the support to train the students of HUST and had high expectation for the student-interns’ future work as well. The students spoke at the meeting actively, expressing acknowledgement to the enterprise and HUST for providing them with the intern opportunity. After the meeting, Vice President Meng Dawei visited the student-interns’ canteen, dormitory, stadium and other living zones, and the manufacturing shops for the interns as well, giving full affirmation and praise for the intern conditions provided by the enterprise.
