On July 10, Wang Shuai, an engineer from Texas Instruments, USA (TI), paid his routine return visit to HUST-TI MSP430 Joint Lab and communicated with Yang Mingji, vice dean of HUST’s School of Measurement & Communication Engineering and several other teachers working in the joint lab.
As the engineer who is in charge of the project of TI to promote MSP430 MCU research and development in universities of Northeast of China, Wang praised the achievement of HUST staff had made since the joint lab was established, and expressed his expectation to establish a new joint lab of simulation technology with HUST
TI-HUST MSP430 Joint Lab was established in last November, just after “TI Instrument Innovation Challenge:National Measurement Instrumentation Design Contest, 2013”, which was sponsored by TI. On the competition, the delegation of HUST won three second prizes and three third prizes, which, as well as the numbers of the teams shortlisted for professional final, ranked the second position among some 1,000 teams participated the competition and attracted close concern of TI, who invited Professor Ding Xibo, the tutor of a HUST team that won a second prize in professional final with their works of “Phase-typed ultrasonic wind-speed-measuring instrument”, to attend the 2013’s TI conference for embedded technology educators in China, and then, offered more than 40 cases ofMSP430F6638_FFTB and over 100SCM experiment board as well as a lot of textbooks freely to HUST’s School of Measurement & Communication Engineering to start the joint lab.
“TI Instrument Innovation Challenge: National Measurement Instrumentation Design Contest, 2013” was the first event of such a contest, jointly organized by Chinese Steering Committee for Instrument Technology Training and the Instrument Institute of China. All HUST prize winners and their tutors were from School of Measurement & Communication Engineering.
