On July 24 to July 25, the 6thInternational Conference in High Speed Machining (ICHSM ’2014) was held in HUST successfully. Over 160 representatives from the U.S., Sweden, Australia, and more than 30 national colleges and universities and 10 enterprises attended the conference, including the expert of cutting and processing, Professor Li Zhenjia from HUST and Professor Yuan Zhejun from Harbin Institute of Technology. Over 130 excellent papers selected by the conference were published by the international journalMaterial Science Forum.
President, Professor Li Dayong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, introducing the overall situation of HUST to the guests, hoping the conference would build a good communication platform of high speed machining for the colleges and universities and the enterprises, and wishing a success to the meeting. Professor Jiang Bin from the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering hosted the opening ceremony. The Chairman of conference, Professor Liu Xianli extended sincere welcome to the distinguished guests and briefed on the previous international high speed machining conferences.
ICHSM was co-sponsored by Technical University Darmstadt, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Guangdong University of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shandong University. The objective of the conference is to enhance the independent innovation capability of the enterprises and to promote the development of the national high speed processing technology. This ICHSM’2014got the support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Society of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Heilongjiang Association of Cutting Tool Technology as well. The meeting comprehensively summarized and exchanged the latest research progress and achievements of national high speed machining.
The success of this conference boosted the mechanical discipline influence of HUST at home and abroad, provided a good opportunity for the foreign exchange and cooperation and had positive significance for the development and construction of the discipline.
