2014 China Youth Development Foundation “Hope Project Stimulation Action” recently held a final defense. This time 1,625 projects from 233 schools nationwide were declared, of which 363 were social enterprise mode projects and 1,262 were normal mode projects.

Through the selection by the experts, 30 projects were approved to have the final defense for the social enterprise mode stimulation action, while 127 projects were selected as the regular mode stimulation action.Business Operation of Creative Handicraft and Demonstration of Public Valueinstructed by Zhang Honglei from School of Art had the final defense for the social enterprise mode successfully, and a total of 2 projects were selected for Heilongjiang Province;Valuable Resourceinstructed by Sun Weiye from School of Mechanical and Power Engineering was selected as the regular “Hope Project Stimulation Action”. Upon receiving the notice, within just ten days, the Communist Youth League organized the professional teachers and team members to prepare seriously the plan of the project, the PowerPoint file as well as the trainings for the defense. With the joint efforts of teachers and students, on June 7, the respondent group passed the defense smoothly in Beijing and the project was approved as the “Hope Project Stimulation Action”, winning 10,000 Yuan as the subsidy; at the same time, the regular projectValuable Resourcewon 10,000 Yuan subsidy as well. What’s more, another 6 projects of HUST were approved to get the subsidy as the Heilongjiang “Starlight Action” projects, 4,000 Yuan subsidy respectively. “Hope Project Stimulation Action” was initiated and hosted by China Youth Development Foundation, “Starlight Action” by Heilongjiang Provincial Youth Development Foundation. The 2 projects aim to support the college students to carry out the social welfare services, at the meanwhile to help the young students to promote their capacity, making the students become the responsible actors and the advocates for the voluntary service.

The successful approval of “Hope Project Stimulation Action” and “Starlight Action” projects of HUST has been highly praised by the provincial Youth Development Foundation, and the voluntary work of HUST was highly regarded for the accumulated theoretical and practical experience to care for and serve the children of the immigrant workers, pay attention to the public commonweal action and other fields.
