On the eve of graduates’ leaving, 22 graduates of our school have gone to western regions, difficult areas and grassroots to build their businesses. Three of them are postgraduate volunteers who have attended the tandem plan; five of them are volunteers of national undergraduate voluntary service in western regions; one of them is college-graduate village official volunteer; 13 of them are service grass-roots unit of choose and employ persons. On June 16, our university awarded Ma Tao and 22 students as outstanding graduate title of honour of 2014.
Faced with the era call of “to grassroots, to difficult areas and to wherever the motherland needs us most.”, the 22 outstanding graduates respond to the call of our school and give up ease and comfort to choose the jobs in difficult areas. And eight of them are members of Communist Party of China. These students firmly combine the pursuit of personal value and realization of Chinese Dream and fly their dreams in the places where the motherland needs us most.
For a long time, our university pays high attention to the guidance and encouragement of the students who are planning to go to grassroots and sets up bridge for them. Since 2005, our school has sent 510 students of fine qualities and fine scholar to go to villages and towns, to earthquake stricken areas, to Midwest poverty-stricken areas. From September 5-18, 2013, our university sent staff to interview some students who are working in Xinjiang and Gansu. And we delightly caught sight of their tough and tensile will that they obtained in hard lives, strong sense of social responsibility which they harvest in pressure and abundant practical knowledge which they reap in front-line of work.
Our university also hopes all students learn from the voluntary students to learn their diligence, the entrepreneurial spirit of success in a special field of study and enterprising spirit of cherishment and devotion to work. And we also hope all students will aim high, be ambitious in serving country, be ready to realize their aspiration anywhere all over the country and strive to become excellent talents who both have modern science and cultural knowledge and grass-roots work experiences.
