Invited by Harbin University of Science and Technology, the delegation from America Lowa State University visited our university on May, 26th. The delegation members are Professor Linda Serra who is the vice principal of School of Humanities and Sciences, and Professor Arne Hallam who is the vice principal of School of Literature and Sciences.

Zhao Hong, the vice-president of Harbin University of Science and Technology met with the delegation. At the beginning in the conference, professor Linda Serra Hagedorn, who is the vice principal of School of Humanities and Sciences, introduced the America Lowa State University in the PPT. She presented the location, college setting, majors, scientific research, school rankings, enrollment standard and tuition fees in details. Professor Arne Hallam, who is the vice principal of School of Literature and Sciences, introduced the science courses and engineering courses. After their introduction, vice president Zhao Hong introduced our university and expressed that America Lowa State University was a famous university with a long history, and it had achieved a lot in students cultivation and scientific research. The two universities discussed and had a preliminary agreement in the projects of multi-mode undergraduate joint training, students exchange, masters’ and doctors’ research, short-term exchange in the summer and winter vacation. After the discussion, the two parties signed the cooperation memorandum. Professor Linda Serra Hagedorn—the vice principal of Humanities and Sciences—expressed the hope of carrying out the substantive cooperation based on the cooperation memorandum.

After the conference, professor Linda Serra Hagedorn---the vice principal of School of Humanities and Sciences and professor Arne Hallam---the vice principal of School of Literature and Sciences, gave a lecture to the students in Wang Daheng Elite Class. During the report, they introduced the America Lowa State University in details and the life and study in America, at the same time, they communicated with the students. By this communication activity, the students in the Elite Class had a basic understanding about the overseas study, and they had a definite idea about the focus and requirements of overseas study. Our university will try our best to provide the sufficient conditions for the students in Elite Class and send the excellent students to study in the famous overseas universities.
