On August 18, 18 Foundry Engineering graduates who enrolled in HUST in 1964 returned to HUST to commemorate their enrolling in HUST 50 years ago. They spent four days in HUST and stayed in “Alumni Home”. On 19^th, President Li Dayong and Chairman of the Labor Union Yang Chun visited the “Alumni Home” and had a meal with the alumni.

Li Dayong exchanged greeting with alumni warmly. Following that, in the dormitory of “Alumni Home”, they had a talk and Li Dayong made an introduction to the alumni about the changes taken place in HUST and the status quo of the university. The alumni praised highly of the development, construction and achievement of the alma mater. Meanwhile, on behalf of HUST, Li Dayong expressed his warm welcome towards the alumni. While introducing “Alumni Home”, he told them that this is the exclusive place prepared for the alumni by HUST to call back the memory of home. In the future, the following construction and development of the “Alumni Home” will take place. The alumni expressed their gratitude for the hospitable preparation of the alma mater and praised highly of the service provided by the volunteers of the “Alumni Home”. Before leaving “Alumni Home”, Li Dayong and Yang Chun took photos with the alumni and had a meal together. The alumni were very emotional and donated 3000 yuan to the Education and Development Fund of HUST to express their gratitude.
