From August 18thto 21st, Foundry Class 64-9 returned to HUST. Most of the alumni are more than seventy years old. They came from different parts of China to gather in their alma mater because of the intense love, which was the climax of the alumni revisit activities during the summer vacation. Among the 18 alumni, the oldest is 71 and the youngest is 68 from 12 cities and 6 provinces.
In the four days, they visited three campuses of HUST, had a meeting, visited the lab, and experienced the accommodation in the university. All of them are proud of the achievement, development and reform of HUST. They were even more emotional hearing about the work and the plan about the alumni. The alumni said that the visit provided them with the warmth of home. They expressed their gratitude, and wished a brilliant future of the school. The Chairman of the Labor Union Yang Chun paid several visits to the alumni and received the donation on behalf of HUST. The former Vice President, and the former dean of the Foundry Department Ren Shanzhi joined the activity on August 18th. They exchanged their greetings warmly. The former General Secretary of the Logistics Group Liu Jun accompanied the alumni to visit the campus and conduct activities. Guided by Liu Jun, the alumni visited the foundry lab of the Material School. The familiar instrument and device calls back the memory of their university life. Volunteers of the Alumni Office arranged and guided the alumni and took good care of their life. In and after the commemorative activity, the alumni expressed their gratitude to the alma mater many times.
Before bidding farewell, the alumni left messages on the message board of the “Alumni Home”. Alumni Wu Xianhua composed a poem to express his praise of the university.
