On April 18, the organizing committee of Heilongjiang Province Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling held the exchange of experience and awards ceremony in order to summarize the contest achievements, exchange the experience and praise the advisers and contestants. The ceremony was held in the multi-functional hall in the No. 1 Building in Harbin University of Science and Technology. Those who attended the conference were: the director-general of Provincial Mathematical Society, the director of organizing committee, Professor Wang Yong from Harbin Institute of Technology, the associate director of organizing committee, Professor Shen Jihong from Harbin Engineering University, secretary general of organizing committee, Professor Wu Boying from Harbin Institute of Technology, the committee member Professor Ji Donghai from Harbin University of Science and Technology, Professor Wang Junming from School of Applied Science, deputy director from Dean’s Office Professor Xu Yongming. The ceremony was hosted by Professor Chen Dongyan who is the deputy dean fromSchoolofApplied Science. More than 60 mathematical modeling advisers and70 student representatives from over 30 universities in Hei Longjiang province attended the conference.
Professor Xu Yongming who is the deputy director from Dean’s Office made the speech on behalf of university and dean’s office. He expressed the welcome to committee members and teachers who attended the conference, and introduced the relevant rules to encourage the undergraduate to take part in the contests. Secretary general Wu Boying reported the provincial mathematical contest in modeling, and the associate director Professor Shen Jihong declared the lists of advisors and the contestants. Professor Liu Fengqiu gave the speech in the conference.
All those who attended the conference had the warm communication concerning the mathematical contest in modeling. They introduce the work experience in the mathematical modeling contest and discuss the current practical problems. Through the communication, the teachers shared the experience, discussed the problems and broadened their minds.
Harbin University of Science and Technology won five awards in this provincial mathematical contest in modeling. Special Contribution Award for the contest organizing committee, Team Building Award(Chen Dongyan), Excellent Organization Award (Li Dongmei), Outstanding Instructor Award (Liu Fengqiu and Sun Wei), Instructor Award (Song Xianhua and Wu Zhihui).
