From July 25 to 27, alumni of Grade 52 from Meter major returned to Alma Mater—Harbin University of Science and Technology after 60 years of graduation from the university, pushing the alumni activities to a new high. They are the earliest students in HUST and now the oldest alumni. The oldest one is 86 years old, and the youngest one in them is 80 years old. During their returning period, President of HUST and president of Alumni Association Li Dayong and vice-president of Alumni Association Yang Chun visited them in the Home of Alumni. Fan Jianying, the dean of Measurement and Control Technology and Communication Engineering College, Tong Ziquan vice-dean of the college, Luo Zhongming, Zhao Aiming, Cui Guoguang and Wang Xufeng attended the gathering. The retired professors Yang Yutang, Ma Huaijian and Wang Shurong also attended it. University hospital sent doctors (Cui Siliang, Guo Yanqin and Liu Lili) to provide medicare service.
Considering the alumni’s health, they only have activities in the morning during the gathering period, and have rest in the afternoon. During the three days, they visited the three campuses, reviewed the 60-year development of the university and experienced the university life in the Home of Alumni and dinning hall. President of HUST Li Dayong and vice-dean Yang Chun communicated with the alumni, and expressed the warmest welcome to their returning. The alumni feel very proud and excited about the development and achievement of the university, hoping our university has a better future. Before leaving, they donated a washing machine for the Home of Alumni. The alumni are all moved by the warm hospitality and arrangement and express that university is their home forever.
