Invited by the President of BulgariaTechnical University of Sofia, Professor Georgy Mihov and the Vice Director of Computer Department, Director of Information Center and Director of IBS Fund of Germany Chemnitz University of Technology, Professor Wolfram Hardt, Vice President Meng Dawei and Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges Department Xi Zhaohui visited the two universities from October 26 to October 30. Vice President Meng Dawei and Director Xi Zhaohui took part in a series of activities for the 70thAnniversary of theTechnical University of Sofiaand entered into the discussion of issues concerning joint programs; decided through consultation the issues concerning the 2016 Summer Camp for the doctoral candidates and young teachers which would be held in Harbin University of Science and Technology by four universities from China, Germany, Russia and Mongolia and discussed the issues on sending graduates to study in Germany. This visit has reached the expected purpose and achieved a great success.
On the morning of October 26, the delegation visited the School of Industrial Technology ofTechnical University of Sofia. The afternoon was the open time of the laboratories ofTechnical University of Sofia, thus the delegation visited the renewable energy laboratories of the Department of Electrical Engineering of theSchoolofElectrical Engineering.
On the morning of October 27, the President ofTechnical University of Sofia, Professor Georgy Mihov met with all the foreign delegations at a conference room and the head of each delegation delivered a speech in turn. On the afternoon, the celebration for the 70thAnniversary of theTechnical University of Sofiawas held in the Bulgarian national theatre Ivan Vazov.
On October 28, the delegation flew toGermanyfromBulgariaand then paid a visit to Chemnitz University of Technology. On the morning of October 29, the delegation visited the Department of Mathematics and toured the laboratories of the Department of Computer Science.
On the morning of October 30, the delegation and Professor Wolfram Hardt decided through consultation the issues concerning the 2016 Summer Camp for the graduates and young teachers to be held in Harbin University of Science and Technology. On the afternoon, Vice President Meng Dawei was interview by the correspondent of the university in English.
