To prepare for party congress and the 13thFive-Year Plan, on the afternoon of September 24, talent work forum concerning provincial and university level distinguished teachers was held in the second conference room of teaching building. General Secretary Zhao Guogang and Vice-president Fang Wenbin attended the meeting. Representatives of provincial and university level distinguished teachers took part in the forum. Besides, leaders from Party Committee Organization Department, Graduate School, Personnel Department, Academic Affairs Office and Science and Technology Department attended the conference. General Secretary Zhao Guogang presided over the meeting.
Eleven distinguished teachers shared their valuable experience of education, course construction and scientific research. They also expressed sincere emotion for education and students, and put forward series of good comments and suggestions for talent team construction and student cultivation. On the aspect of talent team construction, they suggested that young teachers should be given heavy burden in advance. Young teachers should be trained for the future dean to establish team consciousness, and to improve ability through further studying and training in companies. In this way, the young teachers could grow up healthily. On the aspect of student cultivation, they suggested to treat students as relatives through deep love and strict supervision. For students’ actual situation, they suggested to cultivate students hierarchically, and focus on making innovations for teaching and studying methods. Through online exams, students’ learning process could be assessed to improve learning effect. Moreover, Top-notch personnel should be trained through all kinds of competitions. On the aspect of education development, they advised teachers to interact with students through changing teachers’ role in order to teach actively. Meanwhile, they also suggested our college to perfect incentive mechanism to encourage teachers and students.
In the summary speech, General Secretary Zhao Guogang pointed out that we were moved by distinguished teachers’ teaching achievement, educated by their working attitude of loving students and education, and enlightened by their comments and suggestions for student cultivation. Moreover, General Secretary Zhao Guogang emphasized that our college was in the critical period of preparing for the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, and it was fundamental to strengthen our human resources. Party organizations and leaders of all levels should listen carefully to all kinds of comments and suggestions to acquire information and summarize further. Thus the policies and mechanisms for talent work could be improved to create platforms for teachers and students’ innovation and entrepreneurship.
Eventually, General Secretary Zhao Guogang exchanged ideas with distinguished teachers. Firstly, for strengthening our human resources, we should follow the principle of people-oriented, priority development, usefulness-oriented and service development. Secondly, we should stick to and return to the truth to educate students and strive for excellence. Thirdly, strengthening our human resources should be demand-oriented, integrate science and education, and promote cooperation between college and companies. Our deeds should accord with our words. Finally, we would persist in innovation, establishing the thinking pattern of “Internet+”, supporting and encouraging domestic and foreign research to establish a typical example.
