Vice President Fang Inspects School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

On Sept. 22, Fang Wenbin, HUST’s vice president who is alsoresponsible for coordinating the external affairs of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, visited the school and held a symposium with the whole school’s leading staff.

At the symposium, Chen Qingguo,dean of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, made an overall introduction of school to Vice President Fang, including its historical development, teaching staff, subject setting-up, scientific research outcomes, and so on, and particularly stressed school’s prominent problems existing in teaching, researching, management and culture construction, the achievements had been made in school since its new leading staff took office, and the school’s working plan in “thirteen-five” project period as well.

The other staff members of the school who attended the symposium reported the work they had done up to now in the fields they took charge, too.

To sum up, Vice President Fang offered his guidance on the further development of the school, i.e. by focusing on the aim of serving the needs of developing old industrial bases of Northeast China vigorously and promoting the innovation ability of equipment manufacturing, to cultivate more excellent professionals of higher morality for the society.

After the National Day, on Oct. 8, Vice President Fang visitedSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineeringagain to make inspections on its school labs and the State Key Laboratory Breeding Base of Dielectric Engineering. Dean Chen accompanied the inspection and introduced the information on the school’s scientific study and the lab’s operation condition. Vice President Fang expressed his satisfaction with the teaching & researching staff and scientific study platform in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and suggested Dean Chen to pay more attention to the design of school’s “thirteen-five” project, high-quality talents faculty nursing and the speed of researching outcomes’ transformation so as to contribute more to HUST’s further development.
