At the invitation of our school, the delegation of the following nine people visited our school on January 14th, 2016, including Zhang Guangzheng, President of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Chen Xiazong, Vice President of Chung Yuan Christian University, Zhong Caiwang, head of the Research and Development Department, Hu Weizhi, head of the International and Cross-strait Education Department, Huang Minzhang, dean of the School of Science, Li Mingkui, Dean of the School of Electrical Information, Chen Liyu, associate professor of the Interior Design Department and his wife Chen Minhui, Wang Zhiying, director of the International and Cross-strait Education Department.
Zhao Guogang, Secretary of the HUST CPC Committee, and Fang Wenbin, Vice President of our school, met the delegation in the 2ndConference Room in the Main Teaching Building. Vice President Fang hosted the meeting and introduced the representatives, and Secretary Zhao gave a welcome address to the delegation and then introduced the school. He said that the development of HUST relied on the open attitude and creative thoughts, changing ideas and giving priority to teaching in order to cultivate excellent students so as to contribute to the development of national revitalization. He also expressegd the idea of cooperating with the universities in Taiwan to promote prosperity of the higher education on both sides, and realize win-win aim. Later, Zhang Guangzheng, President of Chung Yuan Christian University, introduced the school and expressed his full agreement on Zhao’s ideas of how to manage a university, and he said by this visit they had a deeper understanding of Heilongjiang Province, the city Harbin as well as the higher education institutions and he also expressed his hopes for teachers and students to have more chances to exchange with each other and carry out cooperation on cultivating postgraduates and PhD students.
In view of the current situations of the two schools, President Zhang said under the guidance of the strategy of Made in China 2025 and the industrial policy of Productivity 4.0 of Taiwan, CYCU would work closely with the mainland universities, especially those in Heilongjiang Province. He also extended his sincere invitation to our leaders and faculties to pay a visit to CYCU, which could promote mutual understanding and lay a solid foundation for the cooperation and rapid development.
