Lately, the opening ceremony of HUST Danyang Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements and Talents Cooperation and Exchange Center was held grandly in Science and Technology Innovation Park of Economic Development Zone of Danyang City. Vice President of HUST Guo Er’jun, Deputy Director of Division of Science and Technology Zhang Hui, Deputy Director of Office of Teaching Affairs Song Qingkun, General Manager of National University Science Park Yu Yandong, Professor You Bo of School of Automation, Professor Zhang Yuan of School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, Professor Kang Fuwei of School of Material Science and Engineering, Deputy Secretary of Danyang Economic Development Zone (holding temporary post) and Director of Danyang Center Chai Jian, as well as two appointed young backbone teachers from School of Mechanical and Power Engineering and School of Material Science and Engineering attended the activity. Danyang Municipal Party Secretary Dong Guoxiang, Deputy Secretary Shen Yuefang, Deputy Mayor Chen Zhongjian, Director of Administration Committee of Economic Development Zone Huang Junjie and the major leaders of Danyang Organization Department, Science and Technology Bureau, People Club Bureau were also present at the meeting. The ceremony was hosted by member of the Standing Committee of Danyang Municipal Committee of the CPC, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Economic Development Zone Zhao Liqun.
Danyang is located in southern Jiangsu area, adjacent to Changzhou, advanced in economy with the annual GDP of over 100 billion Yuan RMB, over 100 companies having the output value exceeding 100 million Yuan RMB, and the enterprise having the annual output value of over 20 billion Yuan RMB. The resin lenses enterprises here account for 70% of the global production. There are high-tech enterprises representing the domestic level of carbon fiber research and development and production as well. HUST set up Danyang Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements and Talents Cooperation and Exchange Center to through this platform strengthen the contact and cooperation between our school teachers and Danyang enterprises, promote the teachers to enter into enterprises in developed regions of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and change the way of scientific and technological development mode, enhancing the scientific research strength and development level of HUST.
