In order to carry out the spirit of the third plenary session of the CPC of HUST, innovate graduate cultivation, and improve the teaching of graduates and bring into full play the role of summer practice activities of science and technology, on May 21-22, deputy director of graduate school, Duan Hongwei, and Yan Tingliang, a member in Graduate Student Office along with ten Ph.D. students and graduate students took part in the series of activities of “Thousands of graduate students going on a trip to Changzhou”. The activity was hosted by Changzhou Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, and undertaken by Changzhou Talents Service Center and over 400 graduate students from 23 universities gathered there, including top universities such as, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Hunan University, Dalian University of Technology, Southeastern University.
At 8 am on May 21, all the students took part in the social practice pairing activities for gradate students in Changzhou Human Resources Market, where 60 renowned enterprises provided 126 projects in need of 266 graduate students, including 221 graduate students and 45 PhD students. The students from all over the country communicated face to face with the representatives of the enterprises and those who had reached an agreement to cooperate would do research in the enterprises accordingly in July and August.
At 1 pm on May 21, Changzhou Talents Service Center invited 116 graduate students and Ph.D. students to participate in the activity of students from well-known universities visiting Dragon City. These students were from the following eight universities, such as our university along with Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai Campus of Harbin Institute of Technology, Central South University, and Hunan University. They appreciated the scenery of Changzhou and the platform carrier of innovation and creativity. In the next morning, they arrived in Changzhou Planning Exhibition Center to know more about the history and development of the city.
During the activity, Changzhou built a platform for the cooperation between universities and enterprises, providing guarantee for high-level personnel as well as playing a positive role in promoting internship and practice for graduate and PhD students.
