On the morning of March 26^th, the collegiate table tennis competition was held at sports center of HUST, which was sponsored by China Unicom, hosted by the Department of Physical Education and Youth League Committee, and undertaken bySchoolof Electricaland Electronic Engineering. Many distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony, including Vice President Meng Dawei,Head of Department of Physical Education Ren Yong, Party Secretary of Department of Physical Education Wei Qiang, Vice Dean ofSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Deputy Party Secretary Feng Wanli, Qiao Lin from School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, An Lei fromDepartment of Physical Education, and Head Judge Yao Lan.

Vice President Meng Dawei made a speech for the opening ceremony, wishing all players to achieve excellent results, expecting the students of HUST to take part in sports on campus, and hoping the students of HUST to form good habits of learning and doing exercise. Head of Department of Physical Education Ren Yong announced the start of the competition, then Vice President Meng and Coach Yao Lan kicked off for the competition. During the fierce competition, all players were trying their best to enter the finals.

As the prelude to the variedsports on campus,the four-day competition was the first event of annual sports in HUST, and the first of its kind in Heilongjiang Province.With the joint effort of leaders, teachers and students, thecollegiate table tennis competition would be recorded in HUST sports history.
